Ornelas (M.A., Education, 2007) was named this year’s College of Science and Mathematics Honored Alumna. The Honored Alumni Award is the highest honor bestowed upon by the Alumni Association. One alumnus or alumna from each of the university's colleges is selected to receive the award.

After earning her master’s degree at Cal Poly, Ornelas worked at Berkeley City College and Cuesta College, including two years as dean of student services, before returning to Hancock College in her current position.

On Friday, Nov. 4, Ornelas will present “Examining Student Equity Through Financial Aid.” You can attend the presentation at 2 p.m. in room 101 in the Baker Center (180-101).
