Greetings from the Dean: Winter 2013
February 2013
The 2012-13 academic year has been an exciting one so far.
We're still on track to finish construction on the Warren J. Baker Center for Science and Mathematics in May. You can watch the finishing touches go up anytime in our construction photo galleries or on our live webcams.
In December, we welcomed 128 new alumni. They're looking forward to graduate study, medical school, teaching careers, and jobs in the public and private sector. Wherever they go, they're sure to make a difference from day one.
Our students continue to do impressive, hands-on research in diverse areas from climate change to cardiovascular health. You can read a few of their stories in this newsletter.
We've also enjoyed hearing from our alumni. You're a great example for our current students — your accomplishments show them how to make a difference in the world.
On behalf of the entire college and its students, I want to thank all of you who have continued to support our college and its programs. Your contributions allow us to continue Cal Poly's Learn by Doing tradition.
As always, if you're on campus anytime this year, please stop by my office or that of your department to let us know where you are and how you're doing.
